COLORADO BLUE SPRUCE ‘GLAUCA’ – Picea Pungens ‘Glauca’

The Colorado blue spruce has a broad conical shape with the branches protruding horizontally from the ground. The needles are silvery blue and quite prickly, towards the end of the year dark brown cones develop on the branches. The tree is fast-growing and can reach a height of 10 to 20 meters. It thrives in sunny, semi-shady and shady locations as well as on wet and dry soil. It needs nutrient-rich soil to grow. It tolerates wind well. It’s a favourite of birds, owls, and small mammals.
Due to its compact shape and interesting colour, it can also set a beautiful accent in the garden as a solitaire.
