COMMON IVY – 𝘏𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘹

Common ivy is an evergreen shrub suitable for greening wire mesh fences, as well as for greening walls or slopes, as it has gripping roots (rhizomes) with which it clings to surfaces. It is a fast-growing climber that can grow up to 30 meters. It has leathery green to dark green leaves that slightly shine. When the ivy reaches the desired height and density, it needs to be pruned. It can also be shaped as desired. It grows in the sun, in semi-shaded and shaded habitats. It is resistant to drought, heat, polluted air, and wind. It thrives on neutral soils, which can be dry, wet, or moist. Yellow-green flowers appear from September to November and attract bees and butterflies. Dark blue to black fruits are important food for birds, but they are inedible for humans.
