The Japanese Spirea ‘Albiflora’ is a deciduous shrub with a compact but low growth habit. A mature shrub of this variety reaches a height of up to 1,2 meters and a width of 1 meter. It is suitable for a sunny to semi-sunny location and humus-rich, moist and well-drained soil. It tolerates both cold winters and summer heat. The leaves are narrowly elliptical and slightly toothed at the edges. They are green and turn red to purple in autumn. This variety has an attractive appearance and in summer it becomes a richly flowering shrub with white inflorescences. The shrub flowers from June to August and attracts bees and other pollinators.

Prune the plant when it has reached the desired height, after that it is recommended to prune it every year after flowering. Flowering hedges are pruned only enough to encourage more abundant flowering and to rejuvenate the plant. Heavy pruning of flowering hedges is not recommended, as such plants are not designed to change shape.
