It is a semi-evergreen shrub that partially sheds its leaves in autumn. The green leaves are oval, with wide, light yellow margins. The white flowers are followed by glossy black, spherical fruits in midsummer. The shrub thrives in sunny and partially shaded areas, is hardy and tolerates subalpine climates well. The mature shrub is 3 to 5 meters high. The ligustrum hedge is a good windbreak. The flowers of the plant attract bees and butterflies.
